Nylon 12 White is also polyamide 12, but the powder is white. Mechanically it sits close to grey PA12, with 47 MPa tensile strength, a modulus of 1950 MPa and 8% elongation at break in X/Y. Parts come out white after blasting and, because the base is white, they can be immersion-dyed in almost any shade. Grey PA12 can only be dyed black.
We print it only on the Fuse 1+ 30W, in nitrogen. Formlabs recommends nitrogen because in air the powder yellows over time, and the white then drifts between batches.
Choose PA12 White for parts your customer sees, such as product housings, buttons, covers, presentation models or parts that have to match a brand colour. If the part is hidden inside an assembly, grey PA12 does the same job and prints faster.
